Using Neuro Linguistic Programming In Your Hypnosis Practice by: Shawn Carson

I am a little unusual, though by no means unique, in coming to hypnosis through NLP. I remember one occasion early on during my NGH training: I asked a question using my “NLP vocabulary”, which is sometimes very different from “hypnosis vocabulary”. My instructor, Melissa Tiers, is herself an NLP Master Practitioner and she patiently “translated” my “foreign language” for the benefit if the rest of the class. Afterwards she took me aside and told me to carefully explain any non-hypnosis terms for the non-NLP’ers. As I study NLP and hypnosis more and more I realize that both disciplines deal, more or less, with the same techniques and same phenomena, just in a different way and using different terms. I find it fascinating to draw these connections between the two disciplines. NLP began as an exercise in modeling certain therapists (including Milton Erickson), by Richard Bandler a computer student, and John Grinder, a linguist. In order to model they developed a language for the most basic building blocks of experience. As a result, NLP provides a very rich and detailed vocabulary for describing your client’s experience. In this article we will consider how one of the fundamental building blocks of NLP, the concept of representational systems, can be used to help in the construction of inductions, deepeners and interventions for a specific client. A representational system simply means one of our senses, i.e. our sense of sight, or hearing, or kinesthetic sense (interestingly standard NLP does not distinguish between internal and external kinesthetic sensations, or even emotional “feelings”), as well as olfactory, or gustatory. These may be referred to as VAK (visual-auditory-kinesthetic) or VAKOG (adding olfactory-gustatory). By being fully aware of our clients vocabulary, eye movements and other clues, we can begin to determine which of their senses they are using most at that time (we will not deal in detail with how we gather this information other than through vocabulary, in this article). Most of your clients will likely be visual or kinesthetic, with a minority being auditory (although perhaps not surprisingly many hypnotists are auditory!). For example a client may say: Client: I was hoping things would be looking up by now, but they’re not. I really can’t see any way out of this problem [visual]. or Client: I am feeling bad about this. It’s like I am dragging a weight around [kinesthetic]. So what do we do, as hypnotists, with this information? By using words from the representational system the client is using, we can pace the client’s current experience, building rapport. In addition, the hypnotist can begin to direct the client’s attention to their current inner experience. Hypnotist: I understand how things could look that way. What I’d like is for you to imagine seeing yourself beginning to relax. Get a really clear picture of that. See yourself relaxing. Notice what it looks like when your breathing is becoming deeper, see the relaxation in your arms and legs. [Visual] Or Hypnotist: We all feel that way sometimes. What I’d like is for you to sit back, take a deep breath. Begin to feel your feet relaxing…[kinesthetic] Once we have matched the client’s experience to build rapport, and begin trance, then we can begin to lead the client into other representational systems. Leading the client in this way does two things, firstly using a representational system they are less used to can lead to a “trancier” experience for example during a deepener, for example: [for a visual]…now feel yourself floating out of your body. Feel yourself floating up, as your body sinks deeper into the chair… or [for a kinesthetic]…now see yourself walking down a staircase, look around and notice details as you descend, deeper… I know from personal experience that feeling myself float out of my body feels really odd and trancey to a strongly visual person like myself! Using mutiple representational systems also allows a much richer hypnotic experience to be constructed: Hypnotist:…and as you walk along that beach, look up at the white clouds in the blue sky [visual], hear the sound of the waves [auditory], feel the cool breeze [kinesthetic], smell the scent of the ocean [olfactory], see the waves rolling slowly into shore [visual and kinesthetic], listen to the seagulls as they soar in the sky… Switching representational systems can be a challenge. One of the Presuppositions of NLP is that all experience is coded via sensory information, we see, hear, feel, smell and taste things. When we think of an experience we think about it as remembered or constructed images, sounds or dialogue, feelings or scents and tastes. Even individuals who seem to think in abstract terms have to make pictures or sounds of the abstractions, “1+1=2” (visual) or “one plus one equals two” (auditory). So by matching the system the client uses we should be able to begin to lead them into a more relaxed state. But how do we go from the representational system they favor to another one? One way is to use a method called “overlap” in NLP. Consider the following: [for a visual] Hypnotist:…Imagine you are in a movie theater, looking at the screen. See yourself on the screen, the you that you want to be. Notice how that ‘you’ stands, how he breathes, how he moves. See the expression on his face. [Begin to overlap representational systems, say into auditory]: Now hear any sounds associated with the movie. Maybe that ‘you’ up there is speaking. Listen to the tone of voice. Really see and hear all those details. [Begin to overlap into kinesthetic] As you watch the movie, and hear the soundtrack, notice how it feels there in the theater. Begin to float toward the ‘you’ on the screen, notice how everything gets larger as you float closer. Float into the screen, into the ‘you’ on the screen. Now seeing out of your own eyes, hearing out of your own ears, that’s right, notice how it feels… Another advantage of switching representational systems is that the client may have become stuck by putting their most of their attention on one specific representational system. Not only that, the client will often tell the hypnotist what she needs to do in order to facilitate change… Client: I feel so bad, I just can’t see my way forward…[stuck in kinesthetic, is asking to be lead into visual] By directing the client’s attention into a representational system other than the one they are experiencing when they get stuck, they may begin to become unstuck before any specific hypnotic intervention is begun: Hypnotist:…and now as you begin to see your way forward, you can begin to notice how that looks…[bringing their attention to visual] By paying attention to the client’s words, eye movements, breathing, physiology, gestures and other clues, we can begin to notice which representational system they are using the most at that time. This is useful information about how the client constructs their reality, and allows us to construct a hypnotic encounter that first matches the client’s current experience, then begins to lead the client into new areas and new experiences.

Are you psychic? I mostly wanted to get your attention with that question. But there is another reason I used it as well. The word psychic really repels some people. There are a lot of negative beliefs about people who are "psychics" like they are fake, unstable, weird, scam artists, etc. Psychic ability can be misused as can any other ability. And it can be used for the highest good. Maybe it's time to move beyond the negative connotations of "psychic" - which may be limiting you - and look at what being psychic really means. When you do that the word itself becomes irrelevant - you can call it whatever feels most accurate to you. Let's get right down to the simplicity of what "being psychic" really is. Being psychic is simply 1) trusting your own experience, 2) focusing and paying attention and therefore being highly aware of what is going on within and around you, 3) tapping into your inner wisdom, and 4) using the benefits of your intuition in your life and business. It is easy to imagine how doing these things could enrich both your life and your business. The focus of this article is intuition. WHAT IS INTUITION? Intuition is an inner knowing. The word intuition is derived from the Latin intueri which means to see within. Intuition is natural - everyone is born with it. It is a spiritual gift - that sometimes still, small voice of love and wisdom that guides YOU in the direction of your highest good. Intuition is your sixth sense and your most important one - It transcends your other senses and includes information from all of your senses, all you have ever learned, plus wisdom and guidance from sources you are not even be aware of. I get what I call "niggles," little niggles that are ever so gently pulling me toward something. Niggles tend to keep coming back for awhile, while a hunch may be of the moment. Other experiences may be a tickle in your throat or some sensation in your body - an inner knowing is felt. You might also notice your energy increasing or decreasing, feel as if you are opening up or shutting down. All of these experiences are telling you something, offering wisdom and guidance in some direction. And intuition is a skill. It is a skill in that it gets stronger the more you use it. Using intuition means listening to it and following its guidance. This next statement is important: Intuition is not supposed to be reasonable. So it's really best to simply go with it, take some action on it without trying to figure it out. If the purpose is not immediately apparent, it will be. Developing a strong partnership between your intuition and your thinking mind will enrich your life and work beyond any current measure. USING INTUITION IN YOUR BUSINESS Intuition is a highly evolved business skill that can greatly assist your success. Intuition is most powerful when you first notice it - that is most often the time to take action. Fast Company Magazine has called "acting on intuition" the number one trend that will change the way we work and live. Making decisions is one key area in which entrepreneurs can benefit from intuition. Highly successful CEOs regularly use intuition when making major decisions. Entrepreneurs and business professionals are faced with making decisions every day, often without having all the facts. Intuition accesses an infinite supply of information and wisdom. Following the guidance and wisdom of your intuition can shift you from indecisiveness, uncertainty, or worry to confidence in making decisions that will enhance the quality of your services and products, your ease of operating and your profits. Another key area where intuition can be effectively used is in connection with prospective clients. Most of you, in retrospect, can probably identify intuitive experiences when first meeting potential clients. Use your imagination consciously - it has been said to be the playground for intuition. 6. Pause for regular intuitive check-ins with yourself. 7. Develop an intimate relationship with your body - intuition most always has a physical component. 8. Keep an intuition journal - keep track of your hunches, nudges and intuitive awareness; also keep track of which ones you acted on and which ones you didn't and notice the results. FORMULA FOR INTUITIVE SUCCESS Decide! Expect! Trust! Act! Make a decision to be intuitive - it's simply choosing to use a powerful gift that you already have! Expect intuition! When you expect intuition, you can relax and let it happen, and it will. Trust your intuition, even if you don't initially understand it. The more you trust your intuition, and that it is always in your best interest, the more it will come around. Act! Acting on your intuition is evidence of your trust. It's your part of the relationship. Over time, it becomes second nature. And you will come to see the benefits of following the guidance and wisdom of your intuition. Your intuition is a delicious gift, a spiritual muscle, a skill, and it is the most natural thing in the world. Using your intuition as a way of life and as a way of business will transform both into rich and thriving experiences. When we rely on the guidance and wisdom of our intuition, life takes on an effortless quality, and we find ourselves in harmony with others and the circumstances and events in our lives - we are in the flow of life!

As we all recall, during the energy crisis of 1972, the entire country participated in the search for alternate fuel sources. Home owners in states with abundant sunshine got tax rebates for installing solar panels. Wind mills flourished in the deserts. We were all conscious of conserving fossil fuels. Then the crisis ended, and most of us went back to business as usual, some with a vengeance. One consequence of giving up an ideal is that the abandoned ideal is added to our psychic clutter, the unexamined and/or unconscious material that often runs our lives outside of our awareness. While we have created supposedly nonpartisan agencies to protect the environment, environmental protection has become associated with the Democratic party. During recent Republican administrations, regulations have been changed to favor business interests over environmental ones. Big business and environmentalists seem to be in conflict. On one hand, environmentalists are labeled tree huggers, conjuring up images of pot-smoking hippies. On the other hand, business interests are characterized as ravenous wolves. Business, however, provides the jobs that keep our economy rolling. And most of the environment-offending companies are publicly owned corporations and therefore their stockholders or their elected representatives guide the company. Are you a stockholder or do you know any? What are your priorities? Are you in a situation to make a difference? When the bottom line is most important, we human beings can easily lose sight of where we are dumping our effluent or how much our smokestacks are contaminating the air. We can perceive ourselves as victims of environmental interests, perceiving them as “messing with” our bottom line. We seek to go forward with the oil exploration on formerly protected pristine lands in Alaska. We allow exploration for fossil fuels in National Monuments. Do we lobby to spend a portion of the oil and gas exploration costs to make renewable energy less expensive? Are we happy with these conditions? Or, if not, do we say nothing and collect the resultant clutter from that undelivered communication? What kind of stewards are we? Do we look for the “green” insignia when shopping for products? Do we recycle our household trash? Or does convenience take precedence, producing clutter in our environment and in our selves? Do we lobby our city to provide curb-side recycling if it’s not provided? Lobbying might take time, always in short supply. But consider the possibility that any excuse may, in fact, be clutter. And most scientists agree that global warming is increasing due to a buildup in the atmosphere of human produced, heat-trapping, greenhouse gases -- primarily carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. The campaign to reduce global warming urges Americans to help fight it by driving less, driving fuel-efficient vehicles, recycling and turning down the thermostat a few degrees in winter and up a few degrees in summer. The Bush administration decided that global warming needed only more study. The campaign to end global warming calls on citizens to lobby in support of clean renewable energy sources, other environmental legislation, and the 1997 Kyoto Protocol that the Bush administration rejected. President Bush irritated many U.S. allies by pulling out of the Kyoto pact, saying it would hurt the U.S. economy. Instead, he has proposed independent policies to encourage industries to trim emissions. America is the largest greenhouse-gas polluter in the world. With 4 % of the world’s population, it discharges a quarter of the world’s carbon dioxide. Q: Am I special enough to have psychic abilities?

A: The development process will be as hard as you try to make it. All you need is an open attitude, the harder you try to "be" psychic, the harder the development process will prove to be. It is just like meditation, you should stop focusing on the progress and start focusing on the process.
Q: Will I open myself up to evil spirits when I learn to develop?
A: There are various protection and grounding methods that are available to you. You should try these before you try any other psychic development exercises. Haunted Houses, Dead Tenants and a Big Tummy Ache by: Bobbie Grennier
World renown psychic and author Jane Doherty has found herself in a very prominent position on her new reality TV show called “Dead Tenants”, which is hosted by The Learning Channel. I say it’s a prominent position because of the phenomena that separates Jane’s psychic abilities from those of other psychics.

Instead, the stomach expands as if I was nine months pregnant.” Jane actually describes it as very intense muscle cramps, where her stomach is physically gripped by the ghost, and if you watch, the belly will actually lift up. Jane continues, “Often I can tell by the grip whether it is a female, male or child spirit. It first happened to me in 1990, when I investigated my first haunted house with a researcher.”
The belly area is associated with the third charka located at the solar plexus, which is the area that dominates the gifts of telepathy, clairvoyance, clairsentience and an awareness of astral entities. It’s interesting that historically the belly area is associated with body’s core of energy sometimes called the “Chi Point” or the “Hara”, both of which translate literally to mean belly. It’s also interesting that historically, psychics felt their gift came from their gut … called “reading with the pit of the stomach” … where today, most psychics describe their gift coming from their third eye charka, between the eyes and centered in the middle of the forehead. Yes it’s true. You cannot outperform your self esteem. Your self esteem is your belief in your self, and your belief creates your reality. That’s the law of belief. Nobody can change that. You can read more at www.subconscious-secrets.com.
There are two ways you can boost your self esteem:
1) Affirm to yourself in front of a mirror. Use ‘YOU’ as the subject and give command to yourself. For example, if I want to improve my self esteem, I will stand upright, look into my eyes in the mirror and say “Kenneth, you are the best! You are the greatest! You can definitely succeed!” Repeat 9 times everyday (sounds like a doctor’s prescription :)
It works 100% if you follow through this method for at least 30 days.
2) Another effective way to increase your self esteem is by listening to audible affirmation. Why do I use the word audible? Because there are many people trying to sell subliminal programs. I know they works, because many people say so. The only problem is I’ve not experienced it working on me!
Instead of waiting for miracles to happen, I suggest you listen to audible affirmation because I’ve tried this method myself and it works. There are many motivational audio CDs in the market. Get one that is related to self esteem or self esteem and listen to it everyday for 30 days and at least once a month.
One thing I would like to emphasize here is to be clear of the difference between high self esteem and high self ego.
A person with high self esteem is confident in myself, but he doesn’t have to show it to the world. He doesn’t need recognition from other people. He doesn’t need people to tell him “You are good”, although some of these can be encouraging.
A person with high self esteem knows what he wants, and he steadily executes his plan one step at a time. His self esteem is NOT related to his current achievement nor any other external factors. Because of this, he DARES to fail. He knows that he learns more from failure. He knows that through failure, he will come out stronger.
On the other hand, a person with high self ego needs power and authority. He minds how people look at him. To him, sense of achievement and sense of recognition is very important to his value system. He doesn’t know that these values are destroying his life. He dare not fail, because of his high sense of achievement and recognition. He needs power to cover his weakness.
You may ask, if a person doesn’t have any sense of achievement and recognition, what motivates him to achieve more in life?
Ask those who are highly successful. The answer is their sense of responsibility.
A person with high self esteem has high sense of responsibility. He is responsible for himself (for living the fullest he can). He is responsible to his boss or his customers (for rendering the best service he can). He is responsible to his staff (for providing them with a stable income and living). He is responsible to the society (for being grateful of all the things around him).
It is the sense of responsibility that pushes him to a greater height from time to time.

How to tell if someone is lying? Carefully. All methods of lie-detecting, including polygraph machines, are regularly fooled or used improperly, resulting in mistakes. There are a couple of the many ways described here, but try to confirm the truth by other means as well, such as confession or investigation of the facts.
You should compare behavior in the person under suspicion to their "base" behavior, if possible. In other words, if they always have shifty eyes, then this trait can't be considered as an indication of lying. On the other hand, if they are normally very calm under pressure, but start shifting in their chair after certain questions, that may indicate lying. Because all techniques fail at times, you should use several indications before assuming the person has lied.
How To Tell If Someone Is Lying By Testing Responses
One way to test for lying, is to measure a persons desire to avoid a subject, which will sometimes indicate dishonesty or guilt. If you think the person is lying, change the subject quickly. A lying person will often go along easily, and may even visibly relax. An innocent person is more likely to be slightly confused by the change and want to finish their thoughts.
Another lie detecting technique is to suggest something that would make a guilty person feel uncomfortable and watch for a response. Suppose your wife Jane says she was at her mother's house, and you think she is lying. Rather than saying, "I'm calling your mother to verify this," you could use a subtle approach. You might say, "That reminds me, I'm going to stop by your mother's house today to fix that door for her."
If your wife was lying, the idea of you seeing her mother should make her nervous. She may give you reasons why you shouldn't go there. Of course, if your relationship has reached the point where you feel the necessity to resort to these techniques, a simple lie may not be the worst of your problems. Still, sometimes you need to know, so here are a few more ways to tell if someone is lying.
They are using your words. Using your exact words to respond can be an indication of lying. You say, for example, "Did you leave this here?" and they respond, "No, I did not leave this here."
They use un-contracted words. A lack of contractions is more common when lying. For example, instead of saying "I didn't sleep with her," a man might say," I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Again, compare to base behavior, though, as some people may not use contractions often anyhow.
Over-compensation. Often when people lie, they try too hard to be natural, and they give more detail than is necessary.
Forced smiles. A real smile involves more muscles, while a forced smile will use just the muscles around the mouth. The lie here may only be about their feelings, of course.
Let them talk. The more a person talks, the more likely you are to catch them in a lie (if they are being dishonest), especially when you learn the indications to watch for. These are just a few of the ways how to tell if someone is lying.

We all have an inner and outer life. Prioritizing your inner life is not the same as denying your outer. You must bring your inner and outer well-being into harmony by getting rid of unnecessary burdens and meaningless activities. You must find a way to make your wants and your needs to become the same. Darkness consists of anything that is of a lower/heavier vibration such as anger, fear, depression, jealousy, hatred etc. When angry thoughts are directed at you, they can penetrate your weak and vulnerable areas like arrows. What happens is they take away your clarity and fill you with confusion and drain your energy. Following are some tools to empower yourself from Psychic Vampires.
Here is a simple cord cutting exercise. Cord cutting should be done on a daily basis and much more often when we are going through a stressful period in our life. These cords should be cut from our loved ones as well. No cord attached to anyone or thing is good!
- Take some deep cleansing breaths. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Call upon Arch Angel Michael and ask him for his assistance in cutting all cords that are attached to your being. And this is the beauty of being able just to walk up to anyone at anytime and levitate something. They will realize that there was no setup. It just happened, pure magic.

Opinions about astrological prediction are generally divided: “Mysterious! Magical!”, say some; “Nonsense!”, reply others. In fact, both views are based on a misunderstanding of the nature of how astrology really “works”. In this article, I will use a story to show both the true value of astrological prediction, as well as its limits.
Let's imagine that a girl named Ellen goes to an astrologer, who, after studying Ellen's natal chart in relation to this month's planetary positions, tells her that next weekend she will meet a fine young man with whom she will begin a relationship. And that's exactly what happens. Ellen exclaims to Sue, a friend of hers: “It’s magic! Everything happened just like my astrologer predicted!” Sue, impressed by this, makes an appointment with the same astrologer. In her session, she is told that yes, she will indeed find that job she's been looking for, and will have it by May. Sue, delighted, goes home and waits for a response from the company to which she had applied, yet May comes and goes, and she doesn’t receive a call from them. “What a fool I was!”, she remarks when she sees Ellen, “I should have known: astrology is nonsense!”
Which one of the two girls is correct in her opinion? One might say that they both are, since after all, astrology seems to have “worked” for Ellen, yet not for Sue. Yet I think it would be more correct to say, on the contrary, that neither girl was correct in her conclusion, since in each case, that conclusion was based on the acceptance of a faulty idea of astrology, that idea being one which many people, both “believers” as well as “sceptics” share: namely, that astrology indeed purports to be able to reliably predict what will happen in the future.
At this point, many readers, both the believers and the sceptics, will be disagreeing with me: “Well, astrology DOES INDEED claim to predict the future, doesn’t it?”, you may say. And you are right in a way: many astrologers do say that they can tell you what is awaiting you in the future. This is a claim which no “true believer” would ever dispute, and one that no self-respecting sceptic would fail to criticize, or even ridicule. Opinions on the subject thus would seem to be hopelessly polarized. The solution lies in distinguishing what many astrologers CLAIM from that which in fact astrology can really DO.
More than twenty-five years of experience as an astrologer has convinced me that
- astrology cannot make precise predictions about your future
- astrology can indeed reveal the tendencies of your future
And what is the difference? Well, if an astrologer tells you that next Tuesday you will be walking down the street, and will accidently trip and fall, breaking your left wrist as it cracks against a fire hydrant, that would be a pretty precise prediction, wouldn’t it? But no astrologer I’ve ever known makes predictions of such a nature. More likely, an astrologer would say: “There is danger of an accident next Tuesday; try to be more careful than usual!” This is not a precise prediction, but a statement, based on astrological techniques, about an increased probability of a certain type of event occurring. This is the real strength of astrology: not to tell you what is going to happen (since that is beyond its capabilities), but to inform you about the probabilities of certain types of events happening.
Those of you who may be seeking to know just what's going to happen in the future might be disappointed by that last sentence, though you shouldn’t be. After all, if the future were totally predetermined, and if it were possible to predict future events exactly, what would be the point? If something unpleasant were predicted for you, you’d have to be living in constant dread, and if a positive event were foretold, you might just sit back smugly and wait for it to happen, and would thus be robbed of that sudden, wonderful sense of amazement that you would have felt if you hadn’t known it was going to happen!
The true value of predictive astrology is to show you the probabilities so that you may take full advantage of the fortunate times in order to fully prosper, and take special care during the more unfortunate periods, and thus have a better chance of avoiding mishaps, overcoming negative thoughts, making the best out of unpleasant situations, etc.
Using astrology to find out when to expect the “ups and downs” of life will not only give you concrete advantages in many situations, but above all, it can help you achieve a greater understanding of the intimate relationship which exists between our lives and the cosmic forces which are continually shaping them.

I firmly believe that whatever you impart to others will come back to you a hundred fold. You are doing yourself a big favor by helping someone in need. By doing even the smallest acts of generosity, you are inviting good vibrations to come into your life.
You would be earning the respect and love of your recipients. You know that you will always have a loyal group of friends who would help, protect, and do anything for you just because they feel that they have to repay you in any way they can. Most people would have the urge or drive to reciprocate any act of kindness you've shown them.
However, this does not mean that you must expect them to repay you. Give without any expectation of rewards. Don't do it just because you have an ulterior motive. Give unconditionally. Give because you are happy doing it. The universe will get back to you in its own special way.
Speaking of happiness, the act of giving can summon the spirit of joy to come into your heart. How would you feel when you've given something to your less fortunate neighbors? Let me tell you that nothing could brighten up my day more than hearing them express their most heartfelt gratitude and seeing their smiles extend from ear to ear.
Giving is also a healthy habit. It could prolong your life by instilling within you an inner sense of peace and accomplishment.
Just like all things in life, giving has its limitations. Being too generous can have its toll. Your kindness might be taken advantage of and people might abuse your good intentions. Beware of individuals who are continuously seeking your aid. It's better to teach them how to solve their problems than to always attend to their needs.
As one saying goes ...
"Give them some fish and you'll feed them for a day. Teach them how to fish and you'll feed them for a lifetime."
Lastly, here's what I consider the most important rule about giving. Keep your good deeds to yourself. Don't announce to the whole world that you've donated $100,000 to your favorite charity or that you've helped save a child from a life-threatening disease.
If you really desire to give, do it secretly and in private. Some people would write "anonymous" rather than their own names when they've made a contribution. The universe smiles upon these individuals, and they will get their just rewards in due time.
Now that you know how wonderful it is to give, would you go out to the world and share your blessings?

The Ghosts of The Tower of London Pt2 by: Stuart Bazga
In this final instalment of The Ghosts of the Tower of London, you will learn about fate of Catherine Howard and discover the treachery behind the death of Lady Jane Grey who was Queen of England for only nine days.
The most grisly execution and thus haunting is that of the 70 year old Countess of Salisbury, the last of the Plantagenets. King Henry VIII had her executed for political reasons. The feisty Countess refused to put her head on the block like a common traitor. When her executioner came after her she ran, but was pursued by him, with his axe in hand hacking at her until he had hewn the Countess to death.
Her ghost has been seen reliving this truly gruesome act. Also the shadow of a great axe has been seen falling across the scene of her murder.
At one time the Tower of London was home to the Royal Menagerie. Lions, leopards, bears, birds, monkeys and an elephant, that was a gift from the King of France, were kept on exhibit. On the stroke of midnight in January of 1815 a sentry saw a bear from this menagerie emerge from a doorway. He lunged at it with his bayonet, it passed right through the apparition. The Sentry was later found unconscious, it is said he died of fright within two months of this encounter.
Something unseen and very frightening is in the Salt Tower. This is one of the most haunted areas of the Tower of London complex. This is a very old section, dogs will not enter this ancient building, and ever since one of the Yeoman Warders was nearly throttled by a force unseen, they will not go in the area after nightfall.
In 1864, a soldier whose post was to guard the Queen’s House at the Tower of London, saw a apparition so real, that after ignoring the soldiers three challenges, he charged with all his might at the intruder with his bayonet, only to go straight through the figure.
He was found unconscious at his post and was court-martialled for neglecting his duty. Luckily there were two witnesses who corroborated his story. The soldier was eventually acquitted.
Lady Jane Grey is another tragic story of a young life cut short at the Tower, due to the actions of others the most despicable of who was her own father.
She was the granddaughter of Mary (Henry VIII younger sister) and Louis XII of France. The Duke of Northumberland would lose everything if Henry VIII’s son was to die and Mary, who was Catholic, would become queen.
He and her father arranged her marriage to his son and persuaded her cousin Edward VI to name her his successor in case of his death instead of his two half-sisters. When Edward VI died she was crowned Queen of England, but the supporters of Mary overthrew her.
Her own father got scared and in hopes to save his own skin, left the Tower of London and went to Tower Hill to proclaim Mary I, as the Queen of England, Lady Jane never left the tower; she and her husband were immediately imprisoned and sentenced to death. Queen Mary carried out the execution of Lady Jane’s father-in-law but set both Jane and her husband free.
Her father was involved in a rebellion against Mary I, Lady Jane and her husband were again placed in the tower. Lady Jane watched as her husband was taken to Tower Hill where he was beheaded. She saw his body being carried back to the chapel, after which she was taken to Tower Green where she was beheaded. She was only 17 years old.
Lady Jane Grey’s ghost was last seen by two Guardsmen on February 12, 1957, the 403rd anniversary of her execution. She was described as a "white shape forming itself on the battlements". Her husband, Guildford Dudley, has been seen in Beauchamp Tower weeping.
Catherine Howard escaped from her room in the Tower of London. "She ran down the hallway screaming for help and mercy. She was caught and returned to her room." The next day she was beheaded. Her ghost has been seen sill running down the hallway screaming for help.
Other strange sightings at the Tower of London have been "Phantom funeral carriages" and “A lovely veiled lady that, upon closer look proves to have a black void where her face should be."

The Ghosts of The Tower of London Part 1 by: Stuart Bazga
Over the coming week, I hope to lead you on a journey of discovery and adventure. Briefly taking a glimpse into a past so horrid. Of haunting tales and ghastly ends that awaited so many of her most famous occupants. Firing your imagination, so that you will delve deeper into her history for yourselves.
During her long and illustrious 900 years, The Tower of London has developed into one of the most haunted places in Britain. She has been home to beheadings and murders, torture and hangings, as well as being a prison to Queens and Nobles alike.
Thomas A. Becket is "the first reported sighting of a ghost at the Tower of London."
During the construction on the Inner Curtain Wall in the 13th century, Thomas appeared apparently unhappy about the construction, and it is said he reduced the wall to rubble with a strike of his cross. Henry III’s grandfather was responsible for the death of Thomas Becket, so Henry III wasted no time building a chapel in the Tower of London, naming it for the archbishop.
This must have pleased Thomas’ ghost because there were no further interruptions during the construction of the wall.
The Bloody Tower was the scene of the infamous disappearance of the two princes; Edward V (12) and Richard Duke of York (10), who are thought to have been murdered in 1483 on the probable command of the Duke of Gloucestershire, who was to be crowned Richard the III.
According to one story, guards in the late 15th century, who were passing the Bloody Tower, spotted the shadows of two small figures gliding down the stairs still wearing the white night shirts they had on the night they disappeared.
They stood silently, hand in hand, before fading back into the stones of the Bloody Tower.
These figures were identified as the ghosts of the two princes. In 1674 workmen found a chest that contained the skeletons of two young children, they were thought to be the remains of the princess, and were given a royal burial not long afterwards.
The story of the little princes is still to this day a heartbreaking story. They are "among the most poignant ghosts" in the Tower of London.
The most persistent ghost in The Tower of London is the ghost of Queen Anne Boleyn.
The King, Henry VIII, after learning the baby she carried for nine months was a boy and still born, accused by her of infidelity.
She was taken to TOWER GREEN and was beheaded on May 19, 1536.
Queen Anne appears near the Queen’s House, close to the site where her execution was carried out. She can be seen leading a ghostly procession of Lords and Ladies down the aisle of the Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula.
She floats down the aisle to her final resting place. Queen Anne is buried under the Chapel’s altar. Her headless body has also been seen walking the corridors of the Tower.
Sir Walter Raleigh lived quite comfortable compared to others who were imprisoned within the walls of the Bloody Tower.
His "rooms" are still furnished as they were in the 16th century, and can be seen when visiting the Tower today.
He was executed by James I, and has been seen looking exactly as he does in his portrait hanging in the Bloody Tower.

I want you first to realize how powerful thought is. A thought of fear has turned a person's hair gray in a night. A prisoner condemned to die was told that if he would consent to an experiment and lived through it he would be freed. He consented. They wanted to see how much blood a person could lose and still live. They arranged that blood would apparently drop from a cut made in his leg. The cut made was very slight, from which practically no blood escaped. The room was darkened, and the prisoner thought the dropping he heard was really coming from his leg. The next morning he was dead through mental fear.
The two above illustrations will give you a little idea of the power of thought. To thoroughly realize the power of thought is worth a great deal to you.
Through concentrated thought power you can make yourself whatever you please. By thought you can greatly increase your efficiency and strength. You are surrounded by all kinds of thoughts, some good, others bad, and you are sure to absorb some of the latter if you do not build up a positive mental attitude.
If you will study the needless moods of anxiety, worry, despondency, discouragement and others that are the result of uncontrolled thoughts, you will realize how important the control of your thoughts are. Your thoughts make you what you are.
When I walk along the street and study the different people's faces I can tell how they spent their lives. It all shows in their faces, just like a mirror reflects their physical countenances. In looking in those faces I cannot help thinking how most of the people you see have wasted their lives.
The understanding of the power of thought will awaken possibilities within you that you never dreamed of. Never forget that your thoughts are making your environment, your friends, and as your thoughts change these will also. Is this not a practical lesson to learn? Good thoughts are constructive. Evil thoughts are destructive. The desire to do right carries with it a great power. I want you to thoroughly realize the importance of your thoughts, and how to make them valuable, to understand that your thoughts come to you over invisible wires and influence you.
If your thoughts are of a high nature, you become connected with people of the same mental caliber and you are able to help yourself. If your thoughts are tricky, you will bring tricky people to deal with you, who will try to cheat you.
If your thoughts are right kind, you will inspire confidence in those with whom you are dealing.
As you gain the good will of others your confidence and strength will increase. You will soon learn the wonderful value of your thoughts and how serene you can become even when circumstances are the most trying.
Such thoughts of Right and Good Will bring you into harmony with people that amount to something in the world and that are able to give you help if you should need it, as nearly everyone does at times.
You can now see why it is so important to concentrate your thoughts in the proper channels. It is very necessary that people should have confidence in you. When two people meet they have not the time to look each other up. They accept each other according to instinct which can usually be relied on.
You meet a person and his attitude creates a suspicion in you. The chances are you cannot tell why, but something tells you, "Have no dealings with him, for if you do, you will be sorry." Thoughts produce actions. Therefore be careful of your thoughts. Your life will be molded by the thoughts you have. A spiritual power is always available to your thought, and when you are worthy you can attract all the good things without a great effort on your part.
The sun's rays shine down on our gardens, but we can plant trees that will interfere with the sun light. There are invisible forces ready to help you if you do not think and act to intercept these. These forces work silently. "You reap what you sow."
You have concentrated within powers that if developed will bring you happiness greater than you can even imagine. Most people go rushing through life, literally driving away the very things they seek. By Psychic - Concentration you can revolutionize your life, accomplish infinitely more and without a great effort.
Look within yourself and you will find the greatest machine ever made.
How to Speak Wisely. In order to speak wisely you must secure at least a partial Psychic - Concentration of the faculties and forces upon the subject at hand. I-will-be-true-to-my-higher-self.
I-will-live-true-to-my-conception-of-what-is-right.

I-demand-wisdom-so that-I-may-act-wisely-for-myself-and-others.

Another Major Disaster!

A major earthquake has killed at least 20000 in India, Kashmir, and Pakistan. The quakes' centre was located about 60 miles from Islamabad. At least 250 school children were killed when their building collapsed on top of them. Apartment towers made of reinforced concrete and steel are said to have collapsed in this violent earthquake. Already, twice the number of people killed in Katrina, these people will need your help. Please give to charities in order to help the unfortunate victims of this terrible disaster. Another incident in Guatemala occurred due to flooding and landslides, 1500 more victims there too.
